•    Skoda Enyaq:  

This is not only one of the best electric cars but one of the best family cars too.  It has plenty of space and is a no-nonsense, versatile family car undercutting premium rivals on price but beating them on standard equipment and practicality.
It has plenty of range, a good navigation system and features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  
It performs well for safety with a five star Euro NCAP rating, ISOFIX and plenty of driving assistance functions to help keep you out of trouble.  A serious contender for that spot on your driveway!

•    Skoda Karoq: 

This is a small SUV.  It is spacious and versatile with a nicely finished, easily accessible cabin and a high level of standard equipment.  There is 521 litres of boot space which extends to more if you remove the rear seats entirely – which you can do!
There’s an excellent range of engines to choose from and it is comfortable and refined to drive.  It scores high on practicality and it is nearly impossible to fault.  

•    Skoda Superb Estate: 

This car is simply huge with masses of space around the seating and a huge 690-litre boot.  The interior is smart and impressive and possesses plenty of standard equipment.  ‘Simply Clever’ features are a trademark of Skoda and these are definitely present and correct making everyday family life that little bit easier.
As well as what we’ve already talked about this Skoda is comfortable and easy going and great value for money.

•    BMW 3 Series Touring: 

A superb, upmarket family car with surprisingly low running costs.  It offers a 500 litre boot capacity and has a useful larger opening making it very accessible and the rear seats can be dropped to increase luggage capacity.
It drives beautifully with excellent engines to choose from.  There is also a good amount of standard kit with uprated infotainment and the plush, high quality interior makes it feel a step above less premium family estates.

•    Volvo XC40: 

If you’re prepared to pay the extra the XC40 is one of the best family cars you can buy if you’re looking for something ultra-safe, premium and stylish.  It is pretty roomy and gets the most comprehensive standard safety kit in the class too.  There’s a 460 litre boot extending to 1336 litre with the seats down.  If you like the sound of this car but want to go electric then you can check out the electric Volvo XC40 Recharge with a 259-mile range.

•    Volkswagen Touran: 

This is one of the few MPVs/people carriers left on the market and is spacious, comfortable and dependable.  It’s available as a five or seven seater but doesn’t compromise on space.  The seating layout is very flexible and as a five seater you get an enormous 917-litre boot.  The diesel will manage well over 50mpg on a run and it feels good to drive not dissimilar to the incredibly popular Golf from the same stable.

•    Dacia Jogger: 

If you’re looking to save money then the Dacia Jogger at under £15k is the answer.  It offers seven seats and is incredibly practical.  At entry level you can get cruise control, air-con and even parking sensors but stepping up you can have the all-important touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  It drives well and with a small engine still manages to get down the road pretty swiftly due to its lack of weight.

•    Kia Sportage: 

This car is distinctive, nice looking and very capable.  It also benefits from the brands excellent seven-year warranty.  The interior looks upmarket with a clever twin-screen infotainment system and plenty of functional touches to make family life that bit easier.  It offers 591 litres of boot space and it feels agile and sporty to drive.  And finally there is a wide variety of engine offerings, including petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid so there should be something to fit every need.
