Of course, a van requires a lot of torque to move its cargo, which recent advancements in battery tech can now offer without having to sacrifice range. And with zero emissions, these are the vans we all want to see on the road.
If you're looking for a big van that's also fully electric, there are a couple of very deserving candidates to take into account, one of which is the Maxus eDeliver 9. Charge times for the Maxus vary depending on the battery pack you choose, but using an 11kw wall box charger, charging the vehicle should take no more than 8.5 hours. Whilst using a public DC charger, you can regain 80 percent of your range in just 45 minutes.
Inside the Maxus, there is a 10" touchscreen, air conditioning, cruise control, electric front windows, parking sensors, an anti-theft security system, and numerous safety features such as a blind area monitoring system. The front perspective is very aggressive on the outside, with a large chrome grill, and this, combined with LED headlights and daytime running lights, makes quite a statement. The regular Vivaro is already a well-insulated van, and noisy, rattling diesel engines are a thing of the past, but the Vivaro-e's electric powertrain takes the serenity to the next level. As a result, it is about as peaceful and relaxing as a commercial vehicle can be. The 100kW motor produces 134bhp, which may not sound as powerful as a top-end 200bhp diesel, but with no gears to shift and immediate torque from the time you press the accelerator, the Vivaro-e feels far faster than you would anticipate.
