When the team here at MWVC first spoke about working with a local charity and raising some funds for a good cause there was never a question about who would be our first choice of charity. Therefor MW Vehicle Contracts are proud to say that we have teamed up with LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice.
LOROS do some incredible work. They help people in desperate situations, making them as comfortable as possible while at the same providing much needed respite family members. People who need their help find themselves in a situation none of us would want to find ourselves in. But LOROS make a very difficult and heart-breaking experience that little bit easier and less painful.
But no-one ever said fundraising can’t be fun. Take a look below at what we are doing to help and please help us to help them and click the “Donate” button to support our latest fundraising event.
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.

Team MWVC had an amazing time representing the business and LOROS. People gave very generously and we were mentioned as one of the top 4 fundraisers for the event, so thanks to everyone who donated
As far as the football is concerned… Initially we performed well in the group stages, but were robbed by an awful refereeing decision in a very tight final game, meaning we finished 3rd instead of 2nd by a single goal and missing out on a Champions League place. Falling into the Europa League was a disappointment, but we seized the opportunity and saw a stronger chance for some silverware.
The first knockout game was our best performance as we cruised into the quarter finals with a 3-1 win. We then went 3-1 up in the quarter final, but got a bit complacent and quickly got pegged back to 3-3. A long penalty shootout beckoned and when Larry hit the bar with his penalty, we thought it was all over. He recovered with two sensational saves though and we progressed to the semis!
Another draw was played out (our third of the tournament) and again we had to battle a penalty shootout. This time it ended in heartbreak as Simmo saw his penalty saved, but after an incredible few performances, he can still hold his head high.
I said to them after that we could be proud of going so far in our first tournament together, and certainly gives us the desire to progress further next time!
WE DID IT! As you can see the weather made it a real challenge, but we battled through the elements and conquered the mountain.
5 hours in total, to summit and return safely to the starting point it was a real team effort, supporting each other all the way. We are really proud of what we achieved and most of all raising £2750 for LOROS Hospice.
Christmas time is amazing, but the aftermath isn’t so much fun. With that in mind Joe Spinks, Steve Robinson and Dan Clegg set off on a mission to collect unwanted old Christmas Trees from our customers and neighbours in the Leicester area.
Members of the public kindly donated between £10 and £30 each for us to take away their Christmas tree. Helping us raise over £200 for LOROS Hospice.
We worked in partnership with HN Graphic Signs who helped us out with some signwriting on our Renault Trafic and UK Tree work who recycled the trees for us, turning them into useable wood chip.
We are now looking into making this an annual offering. So give us a shout if you would like your tree collecting in the New Year.
I am thrilled to share the incredible success of the recent charity Wolf Run event in which the MWVC team wholeheartedly participated. Our team, representing MW Vehicle Contracts, had a blast navigating through challenging obstacles and muddy terrains, all in the spirit of supporting a noble cause. The event turned out to be more than just a physical challenge; it was a testament to our collective commitment to making a positive impact. I'm proud to announce that we raised an impressive £1885 for LOROS, The Leicester and Rutland Hospice. The joy of overcoming obstacles mirrored the fulfilment of contributing to such a worthy cause.
A day of festive fun to raise Christmas spirit and raise a little money for LOROS at the same time. The team here at MWVC will participating in a range of fun activities with all funds raised going to the worth while charity.
